TRADE MINISTER OF TURKEY EMPHASIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF THREE MAIN SECTORS

Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan joined by video conference method to the meeting with the chairmen of 365 chambers, stocks and 61 sectors and Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Minister Pekcan, in her speech at the meeting, in Covid-19 outbreak of the process, all the ministries in Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership, they work in complete coordination with public institutions and state in Turkey and the nation is in complete solidarity and the process thereafter would continue.
Pekcan saying that Turkey shows a progress compared to other countries on health, on behalf of the emergence of the country as soon as the outbreak of all the measures taken, she said. Pekcan stated that they aim to stand up in business dynamically with the business world and they will try to be a country that is positively differentiated in terms of economy, trade and export.
Reminding that they have implemented the contactless trade practice to minimize the impact of exports from this process, Pekcan said, “In this period, rail trade became prominent in transportation. From now on, we should use the railroad more effectively.” She said.
Pointing out to the works commissioned by the Ministry, Pekcan said that they constantly exchanged views with the business world and that they tried to fulfill the demands of the Ministry, and conveyed other issues to the relevant authorities.
“In this process, we cannot make trade and purchasing delegations, fairs. We have started virtual fair and trade delegations. First, we start with the chemical industry, and then we will realize our trade delegations in the USA, Mexico, Poland in the non-ferrous metals, household goods, plastics sectors. We are starting with the agriculture sector, followed by the shoes and leather goods sector. ”
Pekcan reminded that they put the “Virtual Trade Academy” and “Export Academy” programs into use for the best evaluation of the time spent at home.
Pekcan saying that in pandemic period the importance of digitalisation is much more understood and said “investments to be made in the digitalization and technology, Turkey, and just as important as food for the world. The food, the investments we make in health and digitization will be priorities in the coming period. We need to strengthen our efforts in this regard.”
Pekcan recalled that within the scope of the Economic Stability Shield Package announced by President Erdogan, important supports were provided in areas such as tax benefits, expansion of financial opportunities and employment for the business world.
Pekcan thanked TOBB for its results-oriented, solution-generating work in this process and said that “Breath Loan” is an important work for the business world.
Reminding that room and exchange dues are postponed and that meetings are held electronically, Pekcan said, “Our expectation from you is to get out of this process as soon as possible by increasing our production, capacity and exports.” said.
