Netflix’s first series filmed in Turkey, Hakan: The Protector, makes good contribution to Istanbul tourism.
The Protector who started his broadcasting life at Netflix last year, met the audience with his second season on 26 April. It also contributed greatly to the spread of Netflix in our country, also benefits Istanbul tourism. The tour operators transferred to Netflix their demand of organizing tours to Istanbul with a theme of The Protector.
The Protector series, consisting of 10 episodes of 45 minutes is about; Hakan (Çağatay Ulusoy), an ordinary teenager, has his life upset when learning a secret in history that he needs to protect Istanbul and his stepping on an epic adventure. In the cast of The Protector there are famous actors and actress like Çağatay Ulusoy, Ayça Ayşin Turan, Hazar Ergüçlü, Okan Yalabık ve Mehmet Kurtuluş.
The Communication Manager of Netflix Turkey MiddleEast and Africa, Artanç Savaş emphasizing that The Protector is a production that contains the modern side and historical cultural side of Istanbul and said: “In this direction, we can see that the production increases the tourist interest towards Istanbul. E-mails and messages come from our viewers all over the world. Similarly, we had a global tourism company that said they wanted to organize guided Istanbul tours with The Protector theme. At the moment we do not have an official partnership, but we are very welcome.
